Joe Jaworski Launches Campaign for Texas Attorney General
Campaign Launch Video – “Hell or High Water” – Draws Parallels Between Camp Mystic Tragedy and Battles Jaworski Has Fought for Victims of Catastrophes
(Galveston, TX) — Former Galveston Mayor Joe Jaworski announced his campaign for Texas Attorney General, promising to put Texas children and families first by standing up against the dangerous policies of Texas Republican leaders. Catastrophes like the Camp Mystic tragedy, the Big Freeze, the Uvalde school shootings and many others have spurred Jaworski to call for dramatic change in the Attorney General’s office.
As Jaworski says in his launch video Hell or High Water, “We have a long history of preventable
catastrophes taking innocent lives.” Jaworski goes on to ask in the video, “Will we have an
Attorney General who fights to protect Texans? Or one who follows in the footsteps of Ken Paxton, who obstructed justice, was accused of bribery, indicted for fraud and impeached. Come hell or high water, I’ll fight for Texans.”

The video tells the story of the Lee III, a supply vessel that was run down on a foggy night in 2004 by a container ship. The corporation that owned the supply vessel had ordered it to return home despite the dangers of the near zero visibility. Jaworski draws the connection between corporate indifference and government negligence that too often leads to the deaths of children or their parents.
“For too long, Texas leaders have focused on political games and culture wars while ignoring the real needs of our families,” said Jaworski. “As Attorney General, I will fight to ensure our children grow up safe, healthy, and free, rather than suffering the consequences of political agendas.”
Joe’s campaign is grounded in protecting the rights and futures of all Texans. From defending quality public education and fighting voucher schemes that drain resources from our schools, to advocating for common-sense gun safety measures that keep kids safe in classrooms and communities, Jaworski is focused on real issues that matter to Texas families.
“Our children deserve strong schools, affordable health care, and the freedom to thrive without extremist government overreach into the lives of Texas families,” Jaworski said. “It’s time to move away from the chaos and focus on building a stronger, more inclusive Texas for every Family.”
Jaworski has dedicated his career to standing up for those without a voice. As Mayor of Galveston, Jaworski led the city’s recovery after Hurricane Ike, ensuring families could return home and rebuild stronger.
“As communities across Central Texas look to recover and heal from the deadly July 4th weekend floods, Texas needs an Attorney General who fights to protect their lives and their rights during difficult times,” added Jaworski. “I have the experience needed to ensure families can return home, feel safe, and rebuild stronger.”
