PROTECTING DEMOCRACY
& VOTING RIGHTS
Joe will make voting something to celebrate again — not something to fear. He will stop voter harassment, enforce laws that expand access (like requiring high schools to offer voter registration), and prosecute those who suppress votes. Joe believes in interpreting election laws to empower voters, not intimidate them.
ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE
Joe supports using science and technology to fight climate change while responsibly managing Texas’s energy resources. He will defend lawmakers who champion clean energy initiatives and hold polluters accountable. By incentivizing clean energy, we can protect our environment and strengthen our economy.
REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOM
Joe believes abortion is a health care decision that should remain between a woman and her doctor — not politicians. He supports returning to the Roe v. Wade standard of care up to fetal viability and opposes Texas’s extreme bans rooted in religious ideology. Joe will work to protect privacy and personal freedom, ensuring government stays out of personal health decisions.
ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY & WORKERS’ RIGHTS
Joe will stand up for Texas workers by supporting higher wages, protecting the right to organize, and respecting local decision-making. He has long been a friend of labor and is committed to being an ally for working Texans at every level.
HEALTH CARE
Joe supports expanding Medicaid to bring billions of federal dollars home, save rural hospitals, and lower local taxes. He will defend access to affordable care, protect those with pre-existing conditions, and oppose cruel restrictions on reproductive health.
PUBLIC EDUCATION & AFFORDABLE COLLEGE
Joe will fight to stop unconstitutional voucher schemes that siphon money from public schools. He supports affordable or free community college and restoring in-state tuition for Dreamers who grew up in Texas. Public dollars should support public education — period.
IMMIGRANT RIGHTS
Joe will protect immigrants' constitutional rights and distinguish between immigration and crime. He supports deploying resources to fight cartel violence while ensuring Dreamers, asylum seekers, and immigrant families are treated with dignity and respect.
CRIMINAL & RACIAL JUSTICE
Joe supports legalizing personal use marijuana, ending for-profit prisons, and respecting local decision-making on law enforcement and prosecution. He believes in innovative courts that focus on rehabilitation, like mental health and veterans courts.
GUN VIOLENCE
Joe supports common-sense gun safety measures to protect Texas children and communities. He refuses support from the gun lobby and believes in responsible gun ownership paired with strong safety standards. Joe will defend laws that put the safety of Texans first.
